A aplicação do termo valência
Tenho uma dúvida ainda não sanada. Em sua obra Gramática de Valências, Mário Vilela diz que o termo valência não deve ser aplicado nem aos verbos auxiliares, nem aos verbos copulativos (como ser e estar), nem aos verbos funcionais. A minha dúvida maior é com relação aos verbos copulativos e auxiliares. Por que o autor diz que a valência verbal não se estende a esses verbos? Ainda não tive uma explicação que sanasse a minha dúvida.
